Mary Jo Dale

Mary Jo Dale grew up working in the wine industry, and learned advanced marketing techniques outside the industry via leadership positions at companies such as Westin Hotels & Resorts and AT&T Wireless. More recently, she worked with wineries and wine companies including larger, distributed brands as well as high-end allocated DTC brands. MJ is also founder of Customer Vineyard, a company that helps wine businesses leverage the power of big data to more profitably attract, sell and retain customers. She is currently Marketing Director, Americas for Vinventions– the world’s leading supplier of closures to the still and sparkling wine industry.

Paul has been a powerful change agent in the wine industry for over twenty years. He began his career working in traditional three-tier sales and marketing with Napa Ale Works and later innovating direct-to-consumer sales and marketing models with Niebaum Coppola. A four-time American Wine Blog Awards finalist, he has been a guest lecturer at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, UC Davis, Sonoma State as well as keynoting conferences, symposiums, and seminars. He maintains a blog and frequently contributes articles to business periodicals for his leadership in the wine industry.

Rob has been thrice named as one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in the US Wine Industry, the only banker ever recognized. A frequent media commentator, international conference speaker, lecturer at several West Coast universities and regular blogger, Rob’s informed opinions are trusted by wine producers, importers and financiers alike. He has been authoring Silicon Valley Bank’s views on the industry, as well as the highly regarded State of the Wine Industry Report for over 20 years. In addition to his public role, today within the bank he is responsible for new business while maintaining direct client relationships throughout the wine portfolio. Rob has served on a variety of board capacities over the course of his career in diverse industries, and continues to do so today within the wine space.
Peter is a 20-year veteran in digital entertainment and CGI. He has co-founded several well regarded digital post-production firms, including the interactive/UX firm Float Hybrid Entertainment, the Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning visual effects studio Giant Killer Robots, as well as Hollywood’s original pre-visualization firm, Pixel Liberation Front. As President of Tactic, Peter has joined forces with several other seasoned digital artists, combining his past experience as a visual effects artist and supervisor with interactive visualization and storytelling through involvement in interactive projects, interactive experiences and products centered around new digital formats, like virtual reality, mobile apps and gamification.

Chad, currently SVP at Yelp, over sees Business and Corporate Development. He is also proprietor of Furthemore Wines.

A 21-year company veteran who has worked in various departments, Dan currently serves as director of H-E-B’s wine and beer department, following a consolidation of the two categories about a year ago. He oversees an eight-person management team spread over various Texas regions and roughly 180 beer and wine stewards working across 130 stores. For his attentive dedication to the beverage alcohol category, Dan Schuette has been named a 2017 Market Watch Leader.

Dr. Liz Thach, MW (pronounced “tosh”) teaches in both the undergraduate and Wine MBA programs at Sonoma State University. Liz’s passion is wine, and she has visited most of the major wine regions of the world. In addition, she is an award-winning author who has published over 130 articles and 8 wine books, including Call of the Vine, Best Practices in Global Wine Tourism and Wine Marketing & Sales. Liz has also been a wine judge in various competitions, and has served on many non-profit wine boards. She obtained the distinction of Master of Wine (MW) in May of 2011.

Debbie is a highly regarded wine expert, international judge, and lecturer. Her passion is on display at the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant and Napa’s Oxbow Wine & Cheese Merchant, where she is both owner and managing partner. Over her career, she has helped shape San Francisco’s wine culture through innovative wine programs, emphasizing small-production and sustainably farmed wines. She has developed wine programs at bacar, Ashbury Market, and EOS. Her expertise has been featured in numerous media outlets, including Food & Wine and Saveur.
Based in San Francisco and London, Keith oversees growth leadership and management of F1 Experiences, a global business venture between QuintEvents and Formula 1 that provides unparalleled VIP access, inside experiences and customized hospitality and ticket packages for all Formula One races. Kashy Khaledi is a creative executive in multimedia and advertising, noted for his achievements bridging culture and branding for clients such as Intel, Google, Microsoft, Virgin Mobile, Universal Music Group, Viacom, Live Nation and Mazda. Khaledi has been nominated for a Webby, and won MTV’s Woodie Award for Video of The Year in recognition of his brand-based music video series, Supervideo. Now the proprietor of Napa-based winery Ashes and Diamonds, Kashy is bringing together people from various backgrounds to collaborate on new and exciting cultural experiences, in advertising, editorial and now, wines.

Sheri began her formal wine education at the International Wine Center in New York City, where she later became an instructor. She completed the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Intermediate Certificate in 1998 and the WSET Advanced Certificate a year later. In 2000, she became one of the youngest Americans to complete the WSET Diploma (DWS) and the following year passed the Certified Wine Educator (CWE) exam. In 2003, Sheri earned the esteemed title Master of Wine (MW) and became the youngest American woman to achieve the designation.

Michelle Perry learned the wine business from the ground up, starting as a sales representative at E. & J. Gallo to her present role as the Vice President of Fine Wine Marketing and DTC at Constellation Brands. A longtime supporter of the Oakville AVA, she joined the board of the Oakville Winegrowers in 2012 and quickly assumed the mantle of Marketing Committee Chairperson, a position she held until her election to Board President in 2017.

In the last four he’s lead Strategic Partnerships and Emerging Business Development at Google. Damien is an esteemed academic with close to 100 publications across trade, consumer and academic fields of wine business. He has over 15 years’ experience in the wine sector and was appointed as the inaugural head of the Hamel Family Chair in Wine Business at Sonoma State University. Prior to his appointment in 2015 Damien was the Director of the Wine Business programs at the Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, France.
