President, Boisset Family Estates
Jean-Charles Boisset was born into the world of wine in the village of Vougeot, Burgundy, France. His parents, Jean-Claude and Claudine, founded the family winery in 1961 with an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit in one of the most traditional winegrowing regions in the world. Today, the family collection includes wineries that share more than 18 centuries of combined winemaking heritage and tradition in some of the world’s most prestigious terroirs, from Burgundy to the South of France, to California’s Napa Valley and Russian River Valley.
Jean-Charles leads the family firm with passionate commitment to fine wine, history, quality and a deep respect for the environment. He implemented organic and Biodynamic farming at all of the family’s estate vineyards in Burgundy and California. He instituted the concept of “viniculteur”, redefining the company’s traditional role to encompass a close and active interest in all aspects of winegrowing to ensure premium quality and sustainable farming practices. Over the years, Jean-Charles has pioneered his family’s portfolio with the addition of DeLoach Vineyards in 2003, Raymond Vineyards in 2009 and Buena Vista Winery in 2011.
Divisional Mercahndising Director
Robert Dyer is a highly experienced retail industry executive with over 40 years of diverse and multi-faceted experience across retail, consumer packaged goods and marketing companies. Sine 2010, Dyer has been the divisional merchandise director at Wal-Mart, where he is focused on store merchandising execution, customizing store assortments to their market demographics, and other merchandising focused strategic initiatives for its 300-plus stores on the west coast.
Previously, Robert served as vice president of Center Store for Save Mart Supermarkets, overseeing 249 stores across three banners – Save Mart, Lucky and Food Maxx. During his tenure at Save Mart, Dyer played a key role in the acquisition and integration of 130 Albertsons stores. Dyer also spent nine years as an industry consultant affiliated with Winston Weber & Associates, Inc.
Associate Partner, IDEO
Clark Scheffy is an Associate Partner at IDEO. He focuses on the intersections of business strategy, brand, and designed experiences and is currently focused on building the IDEO Brand Awareness offer. He has worked on projects for clients including JetBlue, Grainger, Converse, Eli Lilly, Sappi Paper, Steelcase, Snap-on, General Mills, Cargill, Del Monte, Lincoln Financial Group, Quiksilver, and Chase. He is also an active contributor to IDEO’s service design offering, sustainability domain, and food & beverage practice.
Prior to joining IDEO, Clark worked in the field of civil engineering for the University of California, Berkeley. He was also an editor for the …For Dummies series of best-selling how-to books, and has written several books for the brand. He also toured as a professional musician and spent a couple of years as a chef.
VP of Finance Tax and Treasury for Pandora
Selwa Hussain was recently named one of the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times. Her proudest accomplishment is leaving a 20 year consulting career behind to move to India to create a financial literacy training program for underprivileged women entrepreneurs who were interested in obtaining funding from microfinance institutions in order to establish their business ventures. Selwa is currently Vice President of Finance, Tax and Treasury, for Pandora Media Inc. Pandora is an innovative leading internet radio service that gives people music and comedy they love anytime, anywhere, through connected devices.
Winemaker, Judge and Consultant
Robert Joseph discovered the basics of wine service at a young age at his parents’ hotel in the English countryside. This was followed by five years living in one of the colder villages of Burgundy’s Hautes Côtes where he learned about soil, climate, grape-growing and winemaking.
On his return to the UK in 1983, Joseph launched Wine International Magazine and became wine correspondent for the London Sunday Telegraph, a position he held for 16 years. Over the last three decades, he has written for several newspapers, published over 20 books, made a few wine videos and won several awards. Robert also founded the International Wine Challenge, which is now one of the largest biggest competitions in the world. In 2005, he collaborated with two highly skilled partners to launch two ranges of wines – le Grand Noir and Greener Planet. Most recently, he has moved into consultancy called DoILikeIt?, an original form of consumer and trade research.
Chief Marketing Officer, Foley Family Wines
As chief marketing officer, Andrea Smalling leads marketing initiatives for 13 wineries and 20+ wine brands under the Foley Family portfolio.
Andrea has a long history as a marketer in the wine industry. Prior to joining Foley, she served as vice president of marketing for VineOne, the premium wine company of Constellation Wines U.S and was the director of global marketing, development brands for Treasury Estates.
Chief Marketing Officer, The Wine Group
Since 2011, Jeff Dubiel has served as the chief marketingofficer for The Wine Group. Prior to joining The Wine Group,Jeff spent nearly ten years at Pepsi Cola in several marketing roles, including vice president of sports marketing and vice president of premium beverages. He also helped lead brand management for E&J Gallo Winery ininternational sales.
Jeff received a bachelor of business administration in business management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
